For over 30 years from the early 1970s Oil Rig Construction was a major industry in Scotland, providing tens of thousands of jobs and bringing millions of pounds of investment to a number of locations around the country, both urban and rural - sometimes very rural!

Went on a shopping trip with my parents to Inverness from Thurso but got delayed due to the Queen naming this Oil Rig and we never even got a glimps of HRH :-)
